I am an uproarious and fun-loving gal who has a passion for my family, travel, the outdoors and writing. Originally from Canada, I relocated to Denver via Salt Lake City and am now back in Utah. My American husband and I have two “half-breeds”: Hadley (age 12) and Bode (age 10).
I am a former columnist for The Denver Post and am the founder and editor of Mile High Mamas – an award-winning site that is touted as Colorado’s largest online network of mommy bloggers. I have worked with PepsiCo, Powdr Ski Resorts’ Snowmamas.com, Colorado Ski Country, Vail Resorts, Disney Social Media Moms, Nintendo, Frigidaire, Ford, Sara Lee, Feld Entertainment and Playtex.
I was the Grand Prize Winner in Microsoft Office’s Winter Games Contest and was their accredited blogger at the 2010 Vancouver Games. As an avid winter sports enthusiast, this was a dream come true! Be sure to read all my behind-the-scenes adventures that included how The Today Show’s Matt Lauer stole my moment in the spotlight and how I put my foot in my mouth when meeting Wayne Gretzky.
I am a regular presenter at social media conferences and most recently spoke at the Colorado Governor Governor’s Tourism Conference in Steamboat Springs. My remarks landed me in Forbes and also on the front page of the Steamboat Today. Be sure to check-out my Media Page for information on media placements and awards that include MSNBC.com, Woman’s Day and CNN.
My husband Jamie and I work and play together. As the former Director of Interactive at the Denver Newspaper Agency, he founded Pixo Web Design & Strategy where I help with social media. We love traveling with our kids, climbing Colorado’s 14ers (14,000-foot peaks), backpacking Southern Utah, skiing, mountain biking, the beach, cruises, playing volleyball and roller-blading.
Jamie and I appeared on the premiere of Seinfeld’s comedic show, NBC’s The Marriage Ref battling it out over his obsession with growing The Great Pumpkin. Don’t mock him–that’s my job. And apparently our celebrity panel Jerry Seinfeld, Julianne Moore and Ricky Gervais’ responsibility as well.
There are several sections to this website including family travel, Utah mom blog, foodie finds and recipes, and Utah living. Thanks so much for joining in on this Life Elevated Mom’s adventures…with altitude!
